Base Ten Partial Sums Using the Free App Number Pieces and Blogger Jr.
Partial sums can be a very tricky multi process for seven and eight year olds. This year I decided to use the iPads to ensure my students conceptualized this skill. After practicing as a whole class while sharing their work using their iPads via Apple TV my students were asked to solve a math problem using Partial Sums strategy with the free app number pieces. They were then asked to post their work on their digital portfolies via Blogger Jr.
